Troopers ID crash victim

A Wisconsin man has been identified as the second man killed in a weekend plane crash in the Brooks Range. Brian S. Young, 36, of Viroqua, Wis., was the passenger in the Piper Super Cub that crashed Saturday, Alaska State Troopers said. Young was an assistant sheep-hunting guide working for Leonard Mackler, 52, of North Pole. Mackler, piloting the plane, also was killed. The plane went down at the 4,200-foot level of Cloud Mountain while en route to Ribdon Valley, just north of Atigun Pass. Bodies of the men were recovered Tuesday. Rescuers began their search Monday after being delayed by bad weather.
